Cabbage, Potato Soup Sausage Skewers w/ Smoked Thuringer Currywurst w/ Lentil Sauerkraut Red Cabbage Pork and Sausage Goulash |
Currywurst with Aromatic Lentil Ragout (serves 4-6)
1 cup lentils, rinsed
2 lb Alpine Brand Currywurst (or any other Alpine Brand sausage)
2 cans stewed tomatoes with juice
1 cup carrots, diced
1 medium onion, diced
2 cup celery stalks, diced
1 tbs fresh chopped ginger
4 garlic cloves, chopped
3 tbs curry powder
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tbs ground cumin
1 tbs ground coriander
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup chicken stock
Salt and pepper
Heat vegetable oil over high heat in large pot. Add onions,
garlic and ginger - sautÈ for 2 minutes.
Add curry powder, cumin, coriander and stir well. Add rest
of ingredients, cover and cook on medium
heat for 1 hour or until lentils are tender. Season with
salt and pepper to taste.
SautÈ the Alpine Brand Currywurst in separate skillet in vegetable
oil until brown on both sides.
Serve lentil ragout in deep dish and add sliced Alpine Brand Currywurst. Guten appetit!
